Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa situated in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa. Its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks as well as an impressive number of other species such as trees, fish, amphibian and reptiles.  Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape. Man's interaction with the lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.
